MiniWatt Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

1. In short

MiniWatt does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and never makes a network connection.

2. What the app reads

MiniWatt reads your Mac's battery and power-adapter data through Apple's IOKit framework: charge level, current, voltage, adapter wattage, battery health and cycle count. These values are only displayed in your menu bar and are never stored or sent anywhere.

3. Start at Login

If you enable “Start at Login”, macOS registers MiniWatt as a login item through Apple's ServiceManagement framework. This setting is stored by macOS locally on your Mac and can be turned off again in the app or in System Settings.

4. Third parties

MiniWatt shares no data with third parties. The app is distributed through the Mac App Store; Apple's privacy policy applies to downloading and installing it.

5. Who we are

MiniWatt is made by Upshift BV, based in Antwerp, Belgium (VAT: BE0729.775.243). Questions about this policy? Email hello@upshift.be.

6. Changes

If the way the app handles data ever changes, we will update this page. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
