2. What tracking do we use?
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to review usage of this website. We do not use analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or a cookie consent banner.
Ahrefs does not use cookies or persistent identifiers. The tool is designed to measure usage of our website without tracking visitors across websites, devices, or days, or using personal identifiers.
3. What data do we measure?
Ahrefs Web Analytics may process the following data for statistical reporting:
- page URL and page views;
- referrer, so we can see which source visitors come from;
- user agent, to infer browser, operating system, and device type;
- location based on IP address, limited to country and city;
- browser language settings;
- link clicks and form submissions.
4. How are unique visitors counted?
According to Ahrefs, raw IP addresses are not stored in their database or logs. For visitors, Ahrefs combines the IP address with user-agent data and a random (hash) salt that is renewed every 24 hours. This way the user cannot be identified.
5. Why do we use trackers?
Through general use of these trackers we can see how many visitors the website has, which pages are visited most, and where visitors come from. For example, we can see which blog (categories) are popular.
